DISCIPLING THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW
Who are the leaders of tomorrow? Our children. King's Kids (Hijos del rey) is an international and interdenominational ministry that helps children, teens and families to grow in their relationship with God, motivating them to spread the Gospel. Our purpose is to guide children and teens to develop a Christian character in order to impact the world, making a real difference in society. In our postmodern world, it seems that there are no longer individuals that can provide leadership in a culture that is morally bankrupt.
This is obvious in every society, and few young people have the necessary character and integrity to direct the next generation through the hard times that are to come. As Christians, we understand that we should provide answers to a world that finds itself in a constant battle. We desire to raise our children in such a way that they can become leaders that will influence the world, allowing them to make commitments to be radical disciples for Jesus. This is also the desire of God, but there's a pre-requisite.
Young people should learn to walk in integrity while they demonstrate a life of obedience and service. King's Kids is committed to challenging, equipping, mobilizing and establishing children and teens to become future leaders filled with the love of God, leaders who will impact the world in everything, whatever the career or profession they choose.
Our vision is that each child and teen would develop an intimate relationship with God based on two forms of communication: prayer and intercession. While children and teens mature in God they are more willing to assume responsibilities and develop new abilities as they grow in confidence in themselves and trust in the grace of God.
DEVOTIONALS
We understand that God has big dreams in His heart that He yearns to share with humanity. One of the best ways of receiving those dreams is through devotional time. We teach and encourage children and teens to spend time alone with God so they may know Him and understand His heart.
WHAT IS A KING'S KID LIKE?
A king's kid is a person who:
• Loves God with all his heart.
• Lives to bring joy to God's heart.
• Puts others before himself.
• Lives by the rules of love (loves his neighbor).
• Lives in obedience to leaders.
• Fulfills his obligations.
• Serves others.
• Is loyal.
• Is trustworthy.
• His yes is yes and his no is no.
• Respects private property.
• Is friendly.
• Uses his time wisely.
• Has died to the world and to sin.
• Fulfills his responsibility in intercession and his hour of alone-time with God.
• Knows how to live by faith.
• Whatever he does, he does with the joy of working for the Lord.
• Seeks excellence in everything.
• Is totally committed to reaching his generation, no matter the cost.
THREE PARTS OF KINGS KIDS
Summer camp
Summer camp is 15 days of intense training for young people between the ages of 8-20. Our hope is that each young person will develop strong character and realize why they were created as well as understanding Gods character. During the training phase many life changing themes and topics are covered, including: alone-time with God, intercession, Christian character, the character of God, divine plumbline, worship, relationships with the opposite sex, Biblical worldview, etc. Art is a universal language, and our training trains students in dramas and choreographed dances which we use as a means to share the hope that we have in Christ
.
Weekends
Following each summer camp a group of children and teens will be selected to continue with a year-long discipleship program. Because of the time and financial obligations, parents will sign a commitment to support their children. The program requires that students attend weekend retreats once a month at the base.
What happens on these weekends?
• Teachings are given to continue the discipleship.
• We go to communities to serve, showing the attitude of a servant (painting, cleaning etc.).
• We do presentations with choreographed dances and dramas in orphanages, plazas, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and churches.
During these times the students give testimony about changes that God has made in their lives, challenging the people to live lives of integrity and dignity. As an organization we recognize the potential of the emerging generation and its strategic role in the fulfillment of the Grand Commission.
Mission trip
One of the requirements of being a part of the year-long ministry is a mission trip. This trip will provide our students with the opportunity to share and minister as well as become passionate for the heart of God by seeing the need in our society. The mission trip can be national or international.
